About the Programme

IIT Kharagpur has added yet another new programme at the undergraduate level. The newly established Department of Education of this institute offers the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) from the academic session 2023-24. ITEP is a dual major programme, with one major in Education and another in any of the currently offered disciplines such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics. The following are the salient points of the ITEP.

• Under ITEP, IIT Kharagpur offers B.Sc.-B.Ed. (Secondary) with Majors in four different disciplines namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics.
• A student will be allotted any one of the above disciplinary Majors based on his/her score secured under the National Common Entrance Test (NCET).
• The students who have passed class XII in Science Stream having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the combination of subjects are eligible to apply for any of the above disciplinary Majors.
• They must have appeared for the test in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the domain subjects in the NCET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• Admission to the programme will be through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) to be conducted by the National Testing Agency.
